Rend Williams ‘93

Clinical Researcher

As a first-generation immigrant, Rend is fueled by a strong work ethic and a drive to maximize life's potential. She started her career in the research lab setting and quickly discovered that she had a passion for clinical research. Rend started her clinical career at Pfizer while she was going to graduate school in Epidemiology. After completing her graduate education, she accepted a fellowship at the CDC where she was involved in several global health programs and initiatives.

Rend moved into the Contract Research Organization arena afterwards where she spent the next 18 years. She successfully oversaw numerous phase I-III clinical trials in multiple therapeutic areas including cardiovascular, infectious disease, diabetes, and primarily hematology and oncology. Her leadership skills in clinical and project management are highly regarded, and she has a proven track record of successfully managing teams, resources, budgets, and timelines to achieve project objectives and deliver high-quality outcomes.

Through Rend's work experience, she discovered her knack for problem solving, as well as a genuine love for developing and coaching others. She decided to start Foresight Business Consulting when she realized that she could help other businesses while using her skills in a way she enjoyed. Her impact resonates far beyond the surface, as she propels others towards personal and professional growth with a rare combination of grit and compassion.

Rend holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Epidemiology from SDSU, a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology and Neuroscience from UCSD, and is a proud alumna of the Academy of Our Lady of Peace (OLP).
