Lisa Biasillo

Vice President, Conservation Education, San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance

Lisa Biasillo is the Vice President of Wildlife Education Programs at San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance. She works on strategic educational initiatives for the Alliance, ensuring that learning and engagement are infused within the organization’s pursuits through collaboration, inspiration, and activation. 

Prior to joining San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance, Lisa worked in the international school sector. She taught in South Korea and Cambodia early in her career before transitioning to academic leadership. Lisa started her leadership career in Cambodia, serving as the Executive Director of a school undergoing rapid growth which increased from 250 to more than 940 students over six years, operating over three branches and five campuses. In Rwanda, she led a large international school through the international accreditation process over three years. As the Director of Vienna International School, an official United Nations school with more than 1350 students from more than 110 countries, Lisa helped the school adapt to COVID regulations and achieve its highest grade 12 exam scores in the 40-year history of the school. 

A lifelong learner, Lisa has a bachelor’s degree in communication studies and art history, a master’s degree in poverty reduction and development management, and a second master’s degree in education. Furthermore, she is a licensed elementary teacher and believes in learning with, in, for, and from nature and is passionate about environmental education.
