Poetic Justice California

Katie Turner received her BA in English and political science at the University of Vermont, her MA in Education and Creativity from the Gallatin School of Independent Study at New York University, and her California Secondary Credential in 6-12 English at the University of San Diego. She began her professional life as a teaching artist in the New York City and Austin public school and juvenile court systems before a 15-year career teaching AP literature and creative writing at OLP. In 2018 she added Southern California to the growing regions served by Poetic Justice. Katie is the Poetic Justice Program Director for California, managing an admin staff, 10 class facilitators, and 25 writing partners, as well as grant writing, curriculum design, and - of course - teaching (her favorite thing in the whole world!).
