News Reporter and Anchor, CBS 8 News

San Diego native Danamarie McNicholl is grateful to be back home working as a reporter with the CBS 8 morning news team. She joins us from KREM 2 News, the CBS affiliate in Spokane, WA where she spent three years as a reporter and anchor. Danamarie graduated high school from the Academy of Our Lady of Peace and attended Gonzaga University, earning a degree in Broadcast and Electronic Media. She is currently finishing up her Masters in Criminal Justice and Cyber Security with Boston University.

Her passion lies in field reporting because it allows her to be immersed in the community every single day. She enjoys waking up with you, while highlighting the incredible people and businesses of San Diego! When Danamarie isn’t setting her alarm for 2:30 am, she enjoys volunteering, golfing, exploring the culinary scene and sleeping in.
