Corporate & Community Liason, Mingei International Museum

Born in Tijuana and raised in Chula Vista, Cristina has spent the past decade building relationships, fundraising, and connecting communities within non-profit organizations in South Bay and Southeast San Diego. As an immigrant to the United States, sister to three brothers, and mother to a mixed-race child, Cristina is passionate about cultivating an inclusive and welcoming environment that celebrates and values community.

For the last three years, Cristina has been cultivating and creating community relationships and collaborations with local artists and arts & culture organizations, bringing diverse voices to the forefront and highlighting underrepresented organizations through her work at Mingei International Museum. Cristina is also the Project Manager and driving force behind San Diego Design Week (SDDW), a five-day celebration of design in our San Diego-Tijuana region presented by Mingei Museum in Balboa Park.
